Leaders/Assistant Leaders – These adults form the uniformed leadership team who actively plan and run the sections and the associated programmes. Full training is provided at no cost and its great fun and very rewarding.
Volunteer Roles in Luton Scout Districts
Our current growth rate of 14% (the highest in the whole of East Anglia!) in youth membership means we now need more adults to cope with the demand! We’re looking for volunteers to take on a number of roles both within Scout Groups (working directly with young people) and also as part of the District Team which supports adults and young people.
As a sectional assistant you support the uniform leaders in the running of the programme. Uniform is an optional extra and whilst training is provided there is no expectation to complete any training other than the “getting started” which is the basics of Scouting and child protection etc – to ensure that both you and young people are safe.
Responsible for the support of Scouting. For example they will manage the groups/ districts accounts, chair meetings and provide secretarial support and administration etc.
Property and grounds
Able to provide assistance either regularly or on an ad hoc basis at our headquarters buildings or at Ross Park a small three-acre site on the outskirts of the town in Stopsley.
